Flexible Talent
Flexible IT and business staffing for project-based work.
We source and place contract professionals for fixed-term projects, interim requirements, and capacity augmentation — across India's IT and business landscape.
Who it's for
Project-based hiring without permanent headcount.
- —Companies with a project starting in 4 to 8 weeks and a defined skill requirement
- —IT services firms that need to onboard contract resources quickly for a client delivery
- —Startups and product companies that need to add capacity without a permanent headcount commitment
- —Enterprises with budget approved for a fixed-term role but restricted from adding to permanent headcount
- —Companies replacing a permanent employee on leave and needing an interim professional
- —Organisations trialling a new technology function before deciding on permanent investment
What we handle
From brief to deployment.
- —Requirement intake — project duration, skill set, start date, work location (on-site, hybrid, remote), and billing structure
- —Sourcing IT professionals who are actively available for contract work and experienced with short-term engagements
- —Screening for contract readiness — comfort with fixed terms, notice availability, no conflicting clauses from prior employers
- —Profile submission with recruiter notes on availability date, expected contract rate, and engagement format
- —Coordination through client interviews and selection
- —Onboarding support — documentation, payroll setup (where applicable), deployment confirmation
- —Mid-contract check-ins and extension coordination
How it works
From requirement to deployment in four steps.
01
Requirement and timeline
We start with the project start date, duration, location requirements, and technical skills. For contract roles, timeline is critical — we ask for this upfront so we can prioritise accordingly and set realistic expectations.
02
Sourcing contract-ready talent
Our candidate pool includes professionals actively seeking contract engagements. We reach out to this network first, then expand to platform sourcing and referrals. We verify contract availability and rate expectations before sharing profiles.
03
Screening and shortlist
We confirm the candidate's availability date, their comfort with the contract duration and structure, expected rate, work mode preference, and any notice period or garden leave restrictions. You receive profiles that are genuinely ready to proceed.
04
Deployment and follow-up
We support the onboarding process — documentation, payroll setup if relevant, and deployment confirmation. We check in during the contract period and manage extension or transition conversations as the project progresses.
Why HRLent
Contract staffing done properly.
Contract-specific sourcing
Not every professional is suited to contract work — different mindset, different expectations on flexibility and stability. Our sourcing focuses specifically on professionals who actively prefer or are experienced with contract engagements, reducing dropout and early exits.
Fast turnaround on urgent requirements
Contract roles usually have a tighter timeline than permanent ones. We treat them accordingly. For most standard IT contract requirements, we aim to have an initial shortlist within 3 to 5 business days of a confirmed brief.
India-market rate knowledge
We know the going contract rates for common IT profiles — by technology, experience level, and city. We won't submit profiles whose rate expectations are incompatible with the client's budget, and we'll flag if the stated budget is significantly below market.
Managed through to deployment
We don't close our involvement when a candidate accepts. Contract deployments involve paperwork, payroll arrangements, and coordination that we stay across. We're available through the full onboarding process.
FAQ
Common questions.
What is the minimum contract duration you support?
We work on contracts from 1 month upward, though most engagements we handle are in the 3 to 12-month range. Very short-duration gigs (under 4 weeks) are case-by-case depending on availability and the specific skill required.
Can contract staff be converted to permanent employees?
Yes. Many of our contract placements are eventually converted to permanent roles if the engagement goes well. We support that transition and can structure the initial engagement to allow for it. Conversion terms are agreed upon at the start of the engagement.
Are the contract professionals on your payroll or the client's?
This depends on the client's preference and setup. We support both direct contract arrangements (professional invoices the client or goes on client payroll) and vendor payroll setups (where we or a partner handles payroll). We'll discuss what works for your situation at intake.
What kinds of IT roles do you typically place on contract?
The most common profiles we've placed include Java and Python developers, frontend engineers (React, Angular), cloud engineers (AWS, Azure), QA engineers, DevOps professionals, Salesforce and SAP consultants, data engineers, and project managers. We're not limited to these — if you have a specific profile, ask us.
